Paul from Perth experienced riding the Tour de France Amateurs during his family stay in the French Alps with unforgettable memories.

Guests from Aspen, San Francisco & Toronto had the same daily routines of riding one col per day while working remotely the rest of the day or being back on time before end of school time.

Let s have a look at a few guest favourite Strava routes so you can get a peak of what to expect from a few hours French Alps biking adventures.

As you leave the urban landscape behind, the road begins to wind its way through lush greenery, and you'll start to feel the elevation gain during climbing of the Col de Leschaux.

The Col de Leschaux pass is renowned for its scenic beauty, with sweeping vistas of the Alps and the valley below. Upon reaching the summit of Semnoz, you will be surrounded by a 360-degree view of the majestic French Alps.

One of the most striking features of the view from Semnoz is the prominence of Mont Blanc, as the highest peak in the Alps.

At the top, the landscape unfolds in all directions, revealing a vast expanse of rugged mountain peaks, deep valleys, and pristine alpine meadows.

The descent from Col de Leschaux is a thrilling experience. The road twists and turns as you descend, offering a mix of fast descents and gentle curves.

Route # 3 - Col de la Forclaz

For a challenging yet rewarding ride, venture towards Col de la Forclaz. This route takes you through rolling hills and lush meadows, offering glimpses of Mont Blanc in the distance.

As you ascend, the air becomes crisper, and the panorama unfolds. Reaching the summit rewards you with a sweeping view of Lake Annecy and the surrounding peaks.

RichardB expericenced taking French classes at Alliance Française and riding his road bike most afternoons.

The road biking was wonderful: I warmed up with the circle route around the Lac d'Annecy, then explored the routes running through the Col de Leschaux (which is a fairly gentle ascent from the lakeside).

One of the options from that col is the Tour du Semnoz, a great big ride with lots more climbing. When you' re ready for more steepness go to the other side of the lake and head up to the Col de la Forclaz - it's demanding, but the views are unforgettable
